“I attended the C.H.A.N.G.E conference in Birmingham, Alabama. Ms. Debbie Goforth was an excellent and inspiring speaker. The passion she has for her at-risk students definitely shined through during her presentation. Ms. Goforth provided helpful information for educators and counselors to take back to their fellow colleagues. It was heart warming for me to have the opportunity to attend this type of workshop, because I do not meet individuals who share my passion for the kids who are viewed as “bad”. I hope to attend another workshop again.”

You are truly an inspiration to ALL!  I love your positive attitude and enduring compassion that glibbly shows for all children, butparticularly at-risk children.   Because of you, I will continue to be empowered to serve.”

“Ms. Debbie Goforth presents the most motivating presentation on at-risk students. Her thoughts and feelings are genuine and will motivate any educator to be a better teacher. Her experiences and addressed in her book and presentation will inspire all teachers, not just those teaching at-risk students, to use her ideas to become a more understanding and caring person.”

“I had the privilege of attending the CHANGE Conference in Birmingham, AL on October 21 and 22 of this school year (08-09).  The presentation by Ms. Deborah Goforth was very informative and, more importantly, extremely inspiring.  I was so moved by the ideas that she shared that I took every spare moment during our breaks to read her book, Scars of Love, Tears of Hope.  I plan to read a portion of her introduction to my faculty.  I have also shared her approach to working with At-Risk students with members of our central office staff.  Ms. Goforth‘s compassion about every child was most evident in her presentation.  She has the capability of inspiring not only the child, but also the teacher.”
