At-Risk Educational Services

Become a keeper of hope and change the world.

If you're an educator, you already know what the terms "at-risk students" or "students at risk" mean. If not, they refer to students who are at risk of either failing specific courses or failing to gradute, usually caused or influenced by their current home, family or economic situations. Special training is usually needed, in order to help educators provide these students with the skills needed to overcome their specific obstacles.

Debbie Goforth provides educational training services to academic professionals to help in their dealings with at-risk students. She is often invited as a guest or keynote speaker or to give presentations at many locations, both locally and on a nationwide basis. If you would like more information, or are interested in hiring Debbie, as a guest or keynote speaker, please use the contact form.

Debbie has been an educator and “keeper of hope” in the Texas school system since 1980 - 27 years! She has taught at every level, but her primary focus has long been the tumultuous secondary school years. She has also coached girl’s athletics, taught at the college level along with continuing education for adults, and been a teacher mentor. She has a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. In 2003, she became an At-Risk Coordinator and turned to public speaking as a means of advocating for kids of all ages. Debbie has been promoting the phrase “No Child Will Be Left Behind” long before it came into vogue. She has been named Teacher of the Year numerous times, but it is not the awards but the rewards of seeing a child succeed that mean the most to her.

Her motto: "Give kids hope, even if it means leaving scars of love."

Her book, "Scars of Love - Tears Of Hope", takes you on an extraordinary journey into the world of at-risk teenagers and a method of bringing hope and promise into their lives, that is so successful, adults everywhere are embracing it. At its heart are attributes that anyone can understand: love them unconditionally and believe in them completely. This is a book that will bring new meaning to the term giving kids hope.
